S32001 Duplex Steel

Component Characteristics:Low C, high Cr, less Ni, high PREN value, corrosion resistance is the same level as 304.

S32001 duplex steel has good yield strength and tensile strength. Products with the same thickness can be thinned, and products with the same volume can be lightweighted. Using S32001 can reduce weight by 2%, save costs, and has good wear resistance and durability.
Pitting/Crevice Corrosion Resistance
S32001 pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is at the same level as 304. The higher the critical corrosion temperature, the higher the starting point of corrosion. The lower the corrosion rate, the more difficult it is to corrode. The higher the pitting potential, the better the corrosion resistance.
Stress Corrosion Resistance
In equipment that contacts trace amounts of chlorides and hydrogen sulfide, 304/316L will undergo stress corrosion, and duplex steel is a better choice.
Acid Corrosion Resistance
S32001 is more resistant to sulfuric acid corrosion than 304 and 316L, and more resistant to nitric acid corrosion than 304.
Alkali Corrosion Resistance
S32001 is more resistant to alkaline corrosion than 304 and 316L. It can be used in soda ash equipment, pipelines, instruments, and valves.
Chloride Ion Corrosion Resistance
S32001 has slightly better chloride ion corrosion resistance than 304. Suitable for seawater, tap water, and other environments.
